Live Special Effects in Zero Gravity.

Zero G Films was founded by Producers Don Podolor and  CJ Hays to make the use of Zero Gravity in Filmmaking affordable to and accessible to most filmmakers.

ZERO-G has been featured on The Apprentice, The Rebel Billionaire, Martha Stewart, Three Wishes, The Biggest Loser, and many other television shows. ZERO G has also been used for filming in multiple movies including The Matrix. This is the identical weightless flight experience used by NASA to train its astronauts and used by Ron Howard and Tom Hanks to film Apollo-13.

ZERO-G is an exciting new environment for film and entertainment projects. Hollywood studios can use ZERO-G to
get special effects shot that are impossible with other techniques and production companies can use ZERO-G to
make headline-grabbing productions… the creative possibilities are endless.

Director Ron Howard wanted as much realism as possible in filming the scenes depicting the crew in space. They chose to work with NASA to use the astronaut training aircraft to train the actors:

Overall, the cast and crew flew 17 flights, making 609 zero-gravity arcs.

The director of The Matrix a few years later, had a concept in mind for filming some of the flight scenes. He wanted to use weightless fighting as a model for the studio fight effects system that was designed for the movie.
